Providence Church Plant Update

We have an update from the Providence, Rhode Island, church plant where Jen Davis has her ministry. Here it is:

Happy October! What a whirlwind it’s been, but in the very best ways! September was a wonderful month here in Providence and we have so much to share. We’d love to first highlight a baptism and testimony of a lovely woman in our congregation named Niara.

Please note: the trauma that Niara has endured means her testimony includes many mature themes. When she shared her testimony at church, all children under age 14 were brought out of the sanctuary. We strongly advise you to watch this video in private and decide for yourself if your child is old enough to view it.

We praise GOD for rescuing Niara out of the domain of darkness and bringing her into the kingdom of the Son He loves (Colossians 1:13)! Thank you, Niara, for so boldly and beautifully displaying the goodness of God over your life!

For campus news, we are happy to report God has brought enough students to Brown and Johnson & Wales Universities to begin Bible studies there! This is what we came for and we are so excited! Please keep praying for the students to meet the Author of life and learn to walk with Him for now and for always.

Our people have been so faithful to get the word out for Sacred City’s Sunday morning gatherings, having collectively handed out 2,500 invitations to our Overcoming Anxiety sermon series. It was a three part series and very relevant, combining the latest research from the 2024 book The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt and the timeless and life-giving Word of God. The flyers we gave out attracted many people we’ve never met before. You can see the first two parts on YouTube now, and the third part will be uploaded soon!

On the last Sunday in September, we hosted a Fall Fest, featuring a catered lunch, face painting, and a beloved-by-all-children-everywhere bounce house. It was a smashing success! We LOVE getting opportunities to get to know people, and this is one way to do it.

October is sure to bring cooler temps, and we hope more and more people coming to know the awesome love of God through the love and message of the gospel proclaimed at Sacred City Church. Thank you for your prayers! We trust God hears them and is glad to answer them.
